Austria home to a wide variety of topography and culture. From the rugged Austrian Alps to the class and sophistication of Vienna, there is certainly something for everyone.
Vienna
Vienna is the elegant capital of Austria. A beautiful city steeped in history and culture. Its stunning architecture, world-class music scene and fabulous wine combine to create a magical experience for cultured travelers.
Carinthia
Carinthia, Austria's southernmost province, is renowned for its stunning lakes. I started the Alpe-Adria trail here in Ossiach, about three days north of Slovenia. It was serene and calm, a lovely place to begin a long journey.
Navis
Navis is a charming village nestled in the heart of the Austrian Alps. Here I had the rare opportunity to stay with a local family on their farm! Their hospitality was unrivaled. We tried to earn our keep with a days work on the farm, but I don't know how much help we were. I think we were the entertainment more than anything.
